Why Were They Called Mini Chimi Bang Bangs? The Deadpool Connection
The Deadpool tie-in was central to the promotion. Jack in the Box positioned the chimichangas as a Deadpool-inspired snack, playing on the character’s well-known love of chimichangas throughout the Deadpool film series. The release coincided with Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine hitting theaters on July 26, 2024.
This was a promotional collaboration between Jack in the Box and Marvel Studios for the film’s release; Jack in the Box is not affiliated with Marvel or Disney outside of this limited-time tie-in.
Are They Still Available?
No. Mini Chimi Bang Bangs were a limited-time promotion that ended September 15, 2024. Because it was a limited-run item, older reviews and videos don’t reflect current availability.
For current limited-time offers, check your local restaurant in the official Jack in the Box app or website. Jack in the Box periodically brings back small-format snack items, including its Tiny Tacos depending on the restaurant and current menu, so it’s worth checking our deals and digital exclusives guide or secret menu guide for anything similar currently running.
What Did Reviews Say?
Reviews of Mini Chimi Bang Bangs were mixed:
- The Impulsive Buy compared the product to supermarket-style mini chimichangas and noted the crispy exterior.
- Brand Eating was more critical of the deep-fried texture and the relatively small amount of filling per chimichanga.
- UPROXX focused on the Southwest-style filling combination, noting the cheddar cheese, corn, and black bean components.
Overall, the item read more as a crispy snack than a substantial standalone meal.
